Open the automation’s Run History first. No run usually points to trigger configuration; a failed run points to an execution problem.

No run started

  • Confirm the automation is active rather than paused.
  • For a schedule, check cadence and Schedule timezone.
  • For GitHub, check installation access, repository enablement, event type, and branch patterns.
  • For source uploads, check the selected project and confirm the upload completed.
  • For Contentful, check the configured webhook event and delivery in Contentful.
Test a single matching event after correcting the configuration. See Create an automation.

A run failed

Inspect the failed step, input, and error. Confirm its connection, project access, language resources, and usage limits. Fix missing inputs or expired credentials before retrying. For a visual workflow, inspect the executed version. Editing a draft does not change the published version used by automatic runs. Publish the corrected version for future runs.

Content sync did not translate anything

Sync moves sources and existing ready translations. It does not generate target text. Add a translation step and review the result. GitHub currently supports executable content sync; other provider setup choices do not imply available file movers.

A run needs attention

Check the external service to determine whether an uncertain action completed before retrying. Pause prevents new automatic runs; it does not cancel existing runs. See workflow retry and recovery guidance. If the cause remains unclear, send the automation and run links to support.
