# Research keywords and track rankings

> Save market-specific keyword ideas and inspect ranking changes for your verified website.

Select a market before researching a keyword. Search intent and rankings can differ even when two markets use the same language.

## Find and save ideas

1. Open a [verified domain](/platform/research/verify-domain).
2. Open **Keyword research** and choose a market in the header.
3. Enter a seed keyword and expand ideas.
4. Inspect search-result snapshots for promising terms.
5. Save the keywords you want to revisit or track.

Saved keywords belong to the selected domain and market and remain after reload. Unsaved expansion results and search previews are temporary; save the terms you need before leaving the page.

## Track rankings

1. Open **Rank tracking** for the same market.
2. Select the keywords to track.
3. Refresh positions for the verified hostname.
4. Review the resulting snapshots over time.

Refresh requests support up to **20 keywords** at a time. Split larger selections into batches. Compare snapshots within the same market rather than combining different locations into one trend.

## Missing or failed results

Check the selected market and verification state first. If the view is empty, confirm that keywords were saved for this market. For a temporary service or rate-limit error, wait before retrying a smaller batch. Send persistent errors to [support](/platform/help/contact-support) with the domain, market, keywords, and time.

Use the findings to improve your [guidelines](/platform/knowledge/guidelines) and content briefs. Research results do not guarantee future ranking or publish content automatically.
